Uganda Media Center was established to facilitate communication of government policies, programmes and projects to the public through the media. The centre additionally facilitates the meeting of Government communication and information needs and the people in order to achieve Social, Political & Economic transformation

Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT) was founded in 2000 by Uganda Communications Commission (UCC). This was in compliance with the Commission’s mandate; to establish, manage and operate a communication services training center, as spelt out in section 5 (z) of the Uganda Communications Act, 1997.

The Uganda Communications Commission was established to implement the provisions of The UCC Act 2013 in accordance with the Laws of Uganda, with the principal goal of developing a modern communications Infrastructure in Uganda, in conformity with the operationalization of the Telecommunications Policy.
Uganda Television and Radio Uganda (the current Uganda Broadcasting Corporation) was born in 1963 one year after Uganda’s independence. However, radio was born in Uganda in 1954 and TV came in nine years after that.
Its main aim was to broadcast through both mediums to the whole country as the national broadcaster.
Posta Uganda is the most extensive provider of postal services in Uganda, having an extensive network of postal delivery outlets down to sub-country level. Mail is delivered to over 70,000 post boxes all over the country, and through our 300 post offices offers a host of auxiliary services.

The National Information and Technology Authority - Uganda is an autonomous government parastatal under the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance in Uganda.
NITA-U is under the general supervision of the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance.
The Media Council of Uganda was established by Section 8 (1) of the Press and Journalist Act, Cap 105 and charged with regulation of the Mass Media. The objective of the Law is to ensure the freedom and responsibility of the press, and regulate the Mass Media.
