About Us
Overview
The Ministry of Information and Communications Technology and National Guidance was established in June 2006 with a mandate of providing strategic and technical leadership, overall coordination, support, and advocacy on all matters of policy, laws, regulations, and strategy for the ICT sector.
A knowledgeable and productive society driven by Information, Communications Technology, and National Ideology.
To increase access and usage of ICT infrastructure and services, ensure effective communication of government policies and programmes, and promote a national ideology for socio-economic transformation.
To provide strategic leadership and supervision in Information, Communications and Technology, and National Guidance for sustainable development.

The Ministry is comprised of seven departments:

Ministry Sector Agencies
The ICT and National Guidance sector is comprised of six agencies:
- National Information Technology Authority-Uganda — NITA-U
- Uganda Communications Commission — UCC
- Uganda Institute of Information and Communication Technology — UICT
- Uganda Broadcasting Corporation — UBC
- Posta Uganda — Posta U
- Uganda Media Center — UMC
- Media Council of Uganda — MC
