Ministry of ICT and National Guidance is partnering with Uganda Revenue Authority to bring to you the 12th Tax Payers’ Appreciation Week which is scheduled to commence from Wednesday 27th to 29th, September 2017 at Kololo Independence Ground, Kampala starting at 08:00am- 05:00pm daily.

While briefing the press at the MOICT & NG boardroom, Hon. Frank Tumwebaze said, the theme of the activity will be “Appreciating Uganda’s Taxpayer; The Nexus between Public Accountability and Tax Compliance”.

In accordance with the theme, the minister urged all MDAs to adopt a culture of accounting to the public-the taxpayers who facilitate Government programs through tax. This he said can be done through press conferences, radio and television talk shows and exhibitions.

He emphasized, that MOICT & NG is partnering with URA to ensure that government works and accounts to the public openly (enforce public accountability).

The Hon. Minister urged the public not only to throng Kololo to appreciate what the Government is doing in terms of service delivery, but also take advantage of the day to get free medical services like cancer screening, yellow fever vaccination, verification of land titles and URA’s online services.

Assistant Commissioner Corporate Affairs at URA, Mr. Seruma Vincent told the press, that all MDAs will exhibit live in Kololo Independence Ground the fruits of the tax payers’ funds. He also said, twelve (12) of the most compliance tax payers will be recognized at the event.
