A new Digital Content Production and Management Centre in Kampala
A state-of-the-art Digital Content Production and Management Centre (DCP&MC) has been set up at the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MoICT) in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Korea. This is one of the outputs of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed between the Ministry and the Korean Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, and the Korea Radio Promotion Association (RAPA) in December 2015.
The Centre will provide Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies; television broadcasters; academic institutions and the general public with facilities for filming and recording; storage and retrieval of electronic media contents; and digitization of content such as education curriculum, Government information and national heritage; and training in digital content development and management. This investment will contribute to growth of the creative industry, nurturing of talent and job creation especially for the skilled, unskilled, young and old.
The facility was established at a cost of about 335,000 USD donated by RAPA, covering ICT equipment, audio visual equipment, furniture, total interior facilities and capacity building.
The Centre will be officially opened on 30th May 2016.
