The Ministry of ICT and National Guidance today hosted a ministerial delegation from Malawi on their ICT ministerial study tour of the Republic of Uganda between the 9th and 10th February 2017 to benchmark on the ministry of ICT & NG policies and systems..
The delegation from Malawi was led by the Hon. Minister of Information and Communications Technology Hon Nicholas Dausi assisted by the Principal Secretary Mr. Justin Adack K. Saidi while the Ugandan team was led by Hon Frank Tumwebaze the Minister of Information Communications Technology & National Guidance assisted by the Permanent Secretary Hon. Bagiire Vincent Waiswa.
In his opening remarks, the Minister of ICT and National Guidance Hon. Frank Tumwebaze said: “ICT is new in Africa and benchmarking is one of the best ways to learn and propel progress. Governments in Africa need to learn from each other how emerging challenges are being handled”

The delegation from Malawi was particularly interested in carrying out a comprehensive e-Government program as part of the national ICT development agenda and public sector improvement efforts.
Ministry of ICT was glad to share the e-government infrastructure, the National backbone infrastructure, the northern corridor integration projects and many achievements that have made the ICT sector vibrant.
