The 7th African conference on free and open source (FOSS) August 22nd – 24th 2016 Kampala Uganda

The Ministry of ICT and National Guidance in conjunction with the National Information Technology Authority - Uganda (NITA-U) and Free Open Source Software Foundation for Africa (FOSSFA) is privileged to host the 7th African Conference on Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and the Digital Commons 2016 with the theme “Open Source Solutions for Open Government & Open Data in Africa”

The conference will attract over 500 delegates from academia, policy makers, software developers, Innovators, Open source activists, researchers, investors, the private sector, ICT practitioners from all over the African continent and other parts of the world.

This makes it a great opportunity for Uganda to not only benefit from the exposure to latest applications, technologies, themes and trends, but also showcase its innovation, investment and tourism potential.

FOSS Conferences are aimed at providing an international forum for developers and also increase the awareness, integration and adoption of free and open source software (FOSS) in Africa within the theme emphasizing how such Free and Open Source solutions are being (can be) used to achieve Open Government and Open Data in Africa
